Fabulous Five

And I am not referring to the Olympic gold-winning US team.  Our one and only Lou turned five!
I can't ever catch a picture without a silly face
We celebrated her birthday in Idaho.   Rexburg is a great place to be in the summer!  It's beautiful and there is so much to do.  Lou chose to go to the splash park to play and Artic Circle for her birthday dinner.   She also asked for a blue butterfly cake (which didn't quite turn out blue, but she didn't care).

Lou is excited about everything!  She can't talk without moving and she has a lot to say (so she is always moving).  She likes to use her "outside voice" and loves to eat her fruits, veggies, and treats.  Her smile is contagious.  We love our sweet Lou!

12 Years

My wonderful friend Jill took the initiative to organize a get together with our highschool gang.  We all met up at LLL Ranch with our families for a weekend of fun.

The amazing thing about my friends is that we stayed friends in college and are still in contact.  My highschool "guy" friends are hilarious and we stayed up way too late laughing until our sides hurt.  I also love and admire the spouses of my friends and so enjoyed catching up with everyone.

We had a great time at the Lake family Reunion.  Fisher's family loves the TV classic M*A*S*H*  so that was the theme of the L*A*K*E* reunion.  Dad and Mom Lake, all six original puddles, their spouses, and their children gathered from the four quarters of the earth to play at Heber Valley Camp for three days.

Bryce, Jenny, Lynette, and Steve planned the reunion with the perfect amount of games, activities, crafts, and down time.
Berry thought the cheese puff toss was great fun, especially eating the cheese puffs.

The last day of the reunion we headed back down to Oma's for water games and fireworks to celebrate the fourth.

Lucky Seven!

Its hard to believe that I became a mom seven years ago when our radiant Curly was born.  As my grandpa said a few years ago, "Curly is a 10 in everything she does (positive or negative)!"  We love her!  She celebrated her birthday a little each day for three days.  She chose our travel day lunch at McDonalds, then had cake with the whole family at Baby Boy's blessing.  On her actual birthday we were at our Lake reunion.  We celebrated again with more cake and a birthday treasure hunt.

Curly asked for a "Tangled" cake and Aunt Ba kindly agreed to take on the challenge.  With the help of engineer Uncle Ry, they created a tangled tower complete with a long yellow braid.

What better way to spend your birthday than with your family.  Curly had a blast playing with seldom seen cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Blessed Baby Boy

So much has happened in our family in the past month - birthdays, reunions, blessings, births, coming and goings. It's hard to to cover it all, yet thinking about all the wonderful experiences reminds me of how blessed we are.

At the beginning of July we loaded up and made the drive to Utah for a Lake family reunion. It was very convenient that all the Lakes were gathered and some of Lainey's family too as we gave our new baby boy a blessing. Having all the family together and in their Sunday best is rare, so it was a great opportunity for family pictures as well. We had birthday cake in honor of Curly's seventh birthday.
